Ian Adam

I started my career in Orthotics direct from High School when I took up an apprenticeship as a Trainee Orthotic Technician with Greater Glasgow Health board I attended Springburn Engineering College and Strathclyde University as part of my apprenticeship upon completing my training I was offered a job as an Orthotic Technician a position that I still hold.  I have always had an interest in Technician training and I was part of the design team who worked with the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) to design the UKs first National qualification for Orthotic and Prosthetic Technicians and I presented a Free Paper on this qualification at the ISPO Congress in Kobe, Japan in 2019. I have served on the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotist committees and I am currently the association Treasurer.  Outside of work I work as a sports photographer specialising in covering the sport of Speedway and I have covered world championship events round Europe. I have my own website at www.ianadam.co.uk.  I also enjoy foreign travel with my family.
