Nachi Chockalingam is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Scientist and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is the Director of Centre for Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Technologies at Staffordshire University. He is also an Affiliate Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Malta, a Visiting Professor at the Department of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai and a Guest Professor Guangzhou Sport University, China. He has over 600 research outputs, including over 200 full research manuscripts. He is an Associate Editor for the journals Footwear Science and Prosthetics and Orthotics International. He is also on the editorial board for other journals such as The Foot. In addition, he reviews for numerous journals and grant-awarding bodies worldwide.  His research has received funding from various international bodies including the European Commission and British Council. He led a recent project in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics to support the development of Standards for Prosthetics and Orthotics Service Provision. He is involved in charitable and non profit organisations to help the wider global community on healthy ageing and assistive technology to aid mobility.
